The Pyramid Principle includes the following four categories:
Physical Well-Being: physical fitness, healthy diet, weight management
Mental Well-Being: stress management, healthy attitude, balance, support systems,
and spirituality
Self-Management:personal growth, professional
growth, image, organizational skills, and self-evaluation
Human Nature:relationships, communication skills, internal image, perception,
and perspective
Attention to each category and sub-category directly influences one’s ability to function as a peak performer.
Pyramid Principle Guidelines
Applying the eight steps of the Pyramid Principle enacts the peak performance process.
1. Fantasize about your desired goals or dreams. This is the visioning process where you get carried away with “if I had or could, I would . . .” thoughts.
Allow these ideas to flow freely. Write down everything you come up with.
2. Hypothesize about the potential needs and challenges of attaining the stated visions or desired outcomes.
3. Correlate what needs to be done to turn challenges into opportunities.
4. Specify actions needed to progress toward vision.
5. Create a base by recognizing everything related to reaching the vision.
6. Affirm the performance steps needed to solidify the base.
7. Anticipate aspects that will be discovered during this process.
8. Prepare to experience unlimited potential in the search for congruent success.
The search for contentment and happiness doesn’t come to an end but rather continues throughout life. Multi-dimensional thinking will open unlimited opportunities. The uniqueness of each moment is the blueprint for individual success. Recognizing the elements of peak performance in life and learning to be with each moment’s glory is a part of the infinite process of becoming.
