Position: Head of Global Lean, Product Supply (HH12027)
Reports to: SVP of Supply Chain
Location: Europe or United States; Europe Strongly Preferred. Location may be negotiable.
Travel: Up to 50% travel
Position Overview & Responsibilities
To enable our client’s continued exponential growth, the product supply organization must continue to innovate lasting global solutions that deliver increased gross margin and cash return. The organization is leveraging lean methodologies combined with six sigma tools as a key global strategy to achieve aggressive cost, cash and responsiveness goals. This position will be the corporate expert on Lean process methodologies and process improvement tools. The Supply Chain Wide lean deployment will require this position to drive bold change in a fast paced and entrepreneurial environment. This is not a ‘teacher’ but an implementer.
This role will serve as a strategic member of the leadership team working on enterprise wide strategies. While lean was rolled out in manufacturing a few years ago, this role will operate across the entire Supply Network leading the renewal of a global lean culture. The role is very consultative providing the leadership and cohesion to bring/keep the Lean House alive. It requires excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills, the energy and passion to make a difference, and the experience outlined below.
Lean Knowledge & Expertise Required
- Leadership driving Lean Enterprise Strategy and Lean thinking across operations & supply chain focused on total supply chain time, lean manufacturing, service, reaction time, cost, cash and quality.
- Experience defining process quality issues, measuring process performance and progress, analyzing root cause defects, value stream mapping and developing targeted process improvement initiatives with key business partners.
- KPI performance management systems experience & Strategic Policy Deployment.
Manufacturing & Product Supply Mastery
- Should have site leadership experience from a process-focused manufacturing environment, preferably Consumer Packaged Goods. Continuous flow and pull system experience required.
- Should also have broader supply and logistics experience, particularly with operating strategy and planning models.
- Strategic leadership around initiatives focused on the sustained improvement throughout the Supply Chain, including driving out costs through better business practices, eliminating non-value added efforts and other defects in the business process.
Organization Development
- Focused on building capabilities to deliver breakthrough results across sites throughout the global organization.
- Demonstrated ability to put in place a program of action, develop comprehensive training programs at all levels, complete with accountability and follow-through to achieve results.
- Must have strong interpersonal, leadership, communication and influencing skills that build productive relationships.
Required Experience
- BS Business/Technical Engineering, MBA a plus.
- Manufacturing leadership in a fast paced organization is a must. Preference for Supply Chain Wide Lean deployment.
- Lean implementation in roles of increasing deployment leadership responsibility to the executive level is a must.
- Advanced Training in Lean, PDCA, Kaizen, VSM and other CI methodologies.
- Proficiency in English (verbal and written) is a must.
