Position Summary

This position is responsible for all local financial and accounting operations for the manufacturing plant that produces both captive branded and 3rd contract manufacturing services to drive profitable growth, while ensuring company assets protection and accounting regulatory compliance.

 

Major Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Plant costs and inventory accounting and controls

o   Internal controls policies and procedures

o   Budgets and forecasts

o   Periodic reports: Variances, Financial Statements, Inventory, etc.

o   Cost savings leadership and validation of accomplishments

  • Cost estimates and pricing for the contract manufacturing business

o   Bottom up costing, pricing analysis (gross margin, contribution, pretax)

o   Quote communications and interactions with customers

o   P&Ls by customer

  • ERP System financial optimization leadership

o   New release implementation in 2017.

  • Regulatory compliance

o   Accounting practices

o   Local government financial reporting and tax filings

  • Parent company and external CPA liaison for general accounting, payables, receivables, taxes, etc.
  • Creating a culture that embraces empowerment and teamwork

 

 Experience & Key Competencies Required

  • Manage all local financial and accounting operations including costs, expenses, inventory, capital, pricing, financial reporting, and coordinate with parent company and external CPA for general accounting, payables, receivables, taxes and audits.
  • Drive the organization identification and implementation of cost and expense savings, as well as margin improvement opportunities.Validate actual savings and margin improvements achieved.  
  • Coordinate the creation of cost estimates with all internal departments and the development of price quotes for the contract manufacturing customers teaming with the sponsors, communicating and interacting with customers.  
  • Lead the ERP system financial optimization to improve business processes and controls.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance of accounting practices, meet local government financial reporting and tax filings, as well as support parent company and external CPA reporting requirements.
  • Safeguard company assets ensuring optimal utilization through proper internal controls and monitoring of reports.
  • Oversee the accounting and physical control of inventory at plant, warehouse, and co-packers.  Also, coordinate with customers on the inventory and reporting requirements of customer-owned inventory.
  • Lead the preparation of all company budgets, periodically meet with department heads to review actuals and develop action plans to achieve business goals.
  • Manage the processing of all local cash disbursements and maintain strong internal controls over the expenditure processes.
  • Provide the company with internal and external financial information, analysis and tools for decision making to enhance the business growth, ensure profitability and to provide innovation and value (budgets, forecasts, customer profitability, critical measures, cost savings analysis, financial statements, promotional analysis, etc.).
  • Create a culture that embraces empowerment and teamwork, developing and maintaining a positive work environment for all employees. 
  • Build and maintain relationships that guide, motivate and reinforce positive performance of all employees toward goal accomplishments.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional departments in the successful achievement of company goals and vision, including:  Operations, Business Development, R&D, Human Resources, corporate headquarters and sister Companies.
  • Assume functional responsibility for the selection, development, evaluation, compensation, and retention of all team members and direct reports.
  • Seek and provide performance feedback, coaching, personal development and the development of others to improve capabilities in current role to prepare for future roles.
  • Establish priorities, balance demand for time and effort, set intervals and monitor results for all areas of work to ensure specific commitments and standards are achieved.

 

Education and Experience Required:     

  • Bachelors in business or accounting required.
  • CPA, CMA, and/or MBA highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 10 years of management experience, with 5+ years at a senior management level in manufacturing accounting operations centric leadership capacity required.
  • Seasoned experience in all facets of finance including: Cost and Inventory Accounting, Financial Statements, Budgeting, ERP Financial systems, Capital Expenditures, Auditing, Taxes, etc.
  • Cost reduction implementations proven track record.
  • Experience in consumer packaged goods manufacturing costing.
  • Solid business acumen, able to partner with commercial leaders to optimize sales and profits concurrently.
