Purpose: The MFS Series of behavior and attitude assessments are a powerful set of tools for improving individual and team effectiveness. The MFS Reports can be used by executives, managers, and team leaders to gain a better understanding of themselves, peers, employees and their clients needs, tendencies, and preferences. The insight provided by the MFS report is used to improve performance, communications, and overall team effectiveness.
What is DISC? The MFS behavior series is based on the DISC model of human performance.
The DISC model and language provides us with an explanation and understanding of ourselves and others that includes ones preferences, motivations, decision, and communications style.
The DISC model measures an individual’s behavior in (4) key areas:
- Dominance: How they deal with Challenges & Problems
- Influence: How they prefer to Influence others
- Steadiness: How they handle Pace & Change
- Compliance: How they might respond to Rules & Regulations
The DISC language provides detailed insight about an individual’s preferences, communications style, decision style, risk tolerances and tendencies.

The 16 types are typically referred to by an abbreviation of four letters—the initial letters of each of their four type preferences (except in the case of intuition, which uses the abbreviation N to distinguish it from introversion). For instance:
- ESTJ: extraversion (E), sensing (S), thinking (T), judgment (J)
- INFP: introversion (I), intuition (N), feeling (F), perception (P)
- This method of abbreviation is applied to all 16 types.
