Position Purpose

This newly created role is responsible for developing and leading the Global Strategic Sourcing for Corporate Services, HR, Travel, Office Supply and Corporate Car categories of Indirect Procurement. Develops and leads a team of Direct Reports responsible for $450M+ in global spend. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Global Indirect Procurement, the role will be responsible for the creation and execution of global strategies, initiatives, processes and programs supporting both short- and long-term initiatives.

Leads the initiative to develop and implement global purchasing policies, practices and procedures for indirect expenses focusing on industry best practices. Provides subject matter expertise in sourcing and contract negotiation, including the identification of new sources and programs for indirect goods and services, all while providing strategic benefit in cost, quality, responsiveness, and continuity.

The appropriate candidate will have proven experience as a strategic leader and influences across the indirect categories of Corporate Services, HR, Travel and Office Supplies with similar spend responsibilities as part of a successful global procurement transformation.

Job Description & Responsibilities

  • Develops and directs Global Procurement & Strategic Sourcing for the categories while managing a team of procurement professionals responsible for $450M+ in global spend.
  • Influences internal and external stakeholders to understand and support the newly redesigned business model focused on harmonization, long-term strategies, adaptability, cost savings, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Responsible for supporting a developmental environment with a focus on succession planning. Ensures all procurement managers have active growth plans and are coached & mentored to strengthen developmental areas of opportunity.
  • Leverages and negotiates pricing, RFIs and RFPs on combined volumes of global purchases prioritizing savings opportunities and taking a unified approach across all purchasing entities with lowest possible total cost in line with strategic initiatives.
  • Concentrates on category strategies, cost savings, effective process & project management, and robust processes around review & approval, supplier management and communication with stakeholders. Oversees the rollout of new vendor contracts and processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively build relationships and hold ongoing dialogues with senior management around the organization’s business strategies and goals. Ability to translate goals into tangible strategic directions and effectively communicate project value-adds to reach enterprise-wide buy-in.
  • Coordinates global committees to establish scope, processes, policies and procedures to manage category demands.
  • Develops and drives KPI/metric development and reporting. Institutes robust risk evaluations and mitigation strategies in key commodities. Drives new processes and systems including supplier lifecycle management and supplier portals.
  • Serves as an inspirational & influential leader at all levels infusing the organization with new thinking, adaptability, and improved ways of operating while providing a sustainable & competitive advantage for the organization.

Education/Requirements

  • 6+ years indirect procurement (4+ in management) in the areas of Corporate Services, HR, Travel and Office Supplies.
  • Must have technical depth in procurement best practices – particularly in global procurement transformation strategies.
  • Proven growth & cultural awareness in team-based organizations. Upwardly mobile, self-driven, adaptive leadership style.
  • BS in Finance, Business, Purchasing or Operations related field. MS/MBA, CPM certification & SAP preferred.
  • Key Competencies: leadership & development, impact focused, adaptability, project management, strong influencing skills, and high-level communication/negotiation/problem solving.
