Position Purpose

This executive leadership role is responsible for leading the COE focused on the Strategic Capabilities of Indirect & Direct Procurement. Manages and leads a global team of 9 Direct Reports influencing $6+ Billion in global spend and 170 procurement professionals. Reporting to the CPO, the newly created role will be responsible for the development and execution of global initiatives, processes and programs supporting both short- and long-term global initiatives including:

  • Sustainability & Responsible Sourcing
  • Capability Development
  • Cost Control & Risk Management
  • People Development & Global Training
  • Innovation, Service & Systems Capabilities
  • Cultural Adaptability & Growth

He/she will lead by engaging, coaching and developing the team ensuring global programs and priorities are aligned to drive capability, harmonization, systems integration, best practices and competitive Sustainability goals. The appropriate candidate will serve as a coach, mentor, influential leader and strategic manager committed to winning the hearts and minds of those in the highly successful, innovative, entrepreneurial and cross-functional global organization.

Leads the initiative to develop and implement global sustainability practices, people development programs, best-in-class strategic sourcing practices, and procurement systems capabilities. Provides subject matter expertise in SS and contract negotiation, including the identification of new Sustainable & Responsible sources/programs for goods and services, while providing strategic benefit in cost, quality, responsiveness, and continuity.

Job Description & Responsibilities

  • Develops and directs Global COE integrating and developing corporate sustainability objectives to ensure procurement is a key contributor and driver of sustainability goals including Green-List, Carbon Reduction, PCR & Waste.
  • Responsible for creating an environment focused on development, training & growth. Ensures reports have active growth plans and are coached to strengthen developmental areas of opportunity through leading & mentoring.
  • Serves as an inspirational & influential leader infusing the organization with new thinking, adaptability, and improved ways of operating internally and externally while providing a sustainable & competitive advantage for the organization.
  • Develops, through the global procurement leaders, global, regional and local strategies to ensure competitive and flexible supply, innovation, reduced complexity and maximum utilization of supplier capabilities.
  • Responsible for global supplier risk assessment programs and tools, as well as a responsible sourcing program, in line with CPG best practices while monitoring and mitigating ethical and human rights issues in the Global Supply Chain.
  • Owns the COE & Sustainability agenda as an influential member of the global procurement & supply organization.
  • Develops and drives KPI/metric development and reporting. Institutes robust risk evaluations and mitigation strategies in key commodities. Drives new processes and systems including supplier lifecycle management and supplier portals.

Education/Requirements

  • 6-8 years procurement, 5 years in management, cross-functional-leadership. FMCG, CPG, Food/Bev preferred.
  • Must have technical depth in procurement best practices – particularly in sustainability and capability development.
  • Proven growth & cultural awareness in team-based organizations. Upwardly mobile, self-driven, adaptive leadership style.
  • BS in Finance, Business, Purchasing or Operations related field. MS/MBA, CPM certification & SAP preferred.
  • Key Competencies: leadership & development, impact focused, adaptability, project management, strong influencing skills, and high-level communication/negotiation/problem solving.
