Position Overview

The Vice President Global Supply Chain Planning is a corporate global position responsible for managing finished goods product supply including planning, allocation, disposition and material sourcing administration to meet the business sales objectives and corporate inventory targets.  Candidates will need to work effectively across the organization, specifically with the regions, marketing, sales, finance and supply chain organizations, acting as the liaison between these key groups, driving key decisions relating to production and sourcing.

Will direct activities related to all levels of inventory at global locations to assure targeted customer service levels and that planned working capital utilization objectives are realized. The successful candidate will initiate global process improvement initiatives designed to surpass the status quo results in delivered customer service and system-wide inventory turns.  The Vice President Global Supply Chain Planning will develop strategic plans to drive step change improvement in under-performing segments of the company's inventory portfolio, lead the organization in successfully delivering product promotions and new product launches.  Will design standardized workflow plans and organization design that ensure efficient utilization of resources, delivering tactical and strategic support to all worldwide materials management groups as required.

This role will:

  • Deliver customer service results that routinely meet targets for all customers in the U.S and all other regions globally.
  • Lead all activities for the company necessary to deliver targeted U.S. and global customer services levels by developing the strategy, setting direction and managing daily actions on all inventory-related activities such that working capital goals are realized.  This will include providing a service balance between regular business (RB) and promotional products, meeting inventory targets for existing products and new product launches, and for revenue products and permanent cabinetry business.
  • Initiate key strategic initiatives for the Company to continually improve working capital utilization and Operating Cash Flow.
  • Lead the organization in developing and implementing effective strategies for SKU rationalization, slow and obsolete reduction and product donation as strategic inventory management tools.
  • Provide overall project leadership for all production resourcing projects between internal manufacture and contract manufacture as well as between geographies.
  • Develop and deliver on-going assessments of time/quality feasibilities for all requested marketing/sales programs.
  • Business lead for any future Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) implementations (e.g. Current Microsoft Dynamics AX project).
  • Lead cross-functional teams to ensure collaborative benefits are realized on all service/turns projects.
  • Maximize manufacturing efficiencies in concert with delivery service/turns goals
  • Drive total extended supply chain end-to-end Cost Of Goods (COG) optimization (from material sourcing to distribution).
  • Direct all inventory-related activities related to returned goods process.
  • Maintain and drive people development as a cornerstone to building a world-class materials management function.
  • Create a performance-driven organization through effective objective setting, performance management, succession planning, recruitment and retention actions.
  • Lead development of planning best practices for the total global supply planning organization.  Benchmark progress against “best-in-class” consumer goods corporations.
  • Develop appropriate business continuity plans and surge/responsive supply solutions to support New Product Development (NPD) successes to business plan.
  • Support and provide a safe and effective work environment for employees.
  • With procurement team, drive and lead step change in total supply chain network lead-time responsiveness.
  • Lead all master planning activities for the U.S. market and permanent cabinetry.

Ideal Education & Experience

  • 10-15 years experience in FMCG Supply Chain Planning at Director or VP.

     - Significant experience leading supply chain planning organization with proven accomplishments in driving       successful inventory/working capital strategies, COGS optimization, lead-time responsiveness and customer service levels.
      - Prior experience managing and executing in a CPG business, working in areas with high SKU count - ~30k SKUs, multiple new product launches with high product complexity.

  • Experience in global supply chain environment.

- Prior experience in purchasing would be beneficial.  Exposure to TPM management, manufacturing, project management and/or distribution are optional)
