Our client, an extremely well regarded multinational, multi-billion-dollar, entrepreneurial & rapidly growing beauty, fragrance & cosmetic company, is seeking a Director of Engineering. He/she will provide leadership and strategic direction to the Engineering, Maintenance, Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) functions with particular interest on CQVInnovationMaintenance Capability Development, Hazardous Material SafetyLean PrinciplesCapital ProjectsLeadership and Technology (SAP). He/she must have a successful track record in Engaged Leadership, Strategy Setting & Deployment, Change Management, and Large-Scale Time-Compressed Growth Projects. This role, based in a 1.2M+ sq ft facility, will lead a team of 30+ professionals.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading all Engineering, Maintenance, Engineering-Technology, HSE, Security and Capital Management strategies in North America while ensuring uninterrupted availability of key business functions, processes and resources required to support essential business activities. Upward mobility opportunities, domestic and international, are plentiful including global engineering, operations and supply chain leadership roles.

  Additional Responsibilities

  • Leads World-Class-Engineering programs and initiatives including but not limited to: Lean, Rapid Changeovers, OEE improvements, Autonomous & Preventative Maintenance.

  • Owns site capital and technical strategy to develop, implement and support innovation within existing supply chains, operations, and NPD pipeline. Large capital project management experience is important.

  • Leads the creation and deployment of new technologies, specifically SAP, supporting faster and lower cost supply solutions.

  • Owns Maintenance, Maintenance Capability Development  & Facilities Management. Supports all capital projects’ needs analysis, technical direction, resource allocation through the evaluation and capital appropriation approval process.

  • Embrace, update and recommend regulatory readiness/maintenance initiatives while deploying a strong Commissioning, Qualifying and Validating program with NPD, new equipment and new production lines.

  • Owns Health & Safety and Environmental. Plans, directs and implements global industrial safety, security and environmental programs for safe and accident-free environments, including continuous Hazardous Material Safety training.

  • Establishes training programs for managers and associates in engineering, maintenance, health, safety, security and environmental procedures and practices. Also conducts facility inspections and audits to detect existing or potential, HSE issues.

   Additional Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years experience in related leadership engineer project/program management/HSE, at least 5 in management.

  • Minimum 3 years experience in Environmental, Health & Safety management.

  • Demonstrated experience as an Engaged Leader with consistent performance, people development & motivating employees.

  • Proven track record of Strategy Setting & Deployment, Change Management & Large-Scale Time-Compressed Growth Projects.

  • CQV (Commissioning, Qualifying, and Verifying) experience required.

  • Knowledgeable and experienced with HazMat best practices and procedures.

  • BS/BA in Engineering or Operations. SAP experience strongly preferred. Personal care, Cosmetics or CPG preferred.
